Munaf Patel, is the Indian cricket player to be featured today in this series of emerging stars to watch for the world cup 2007. He hails from Baruch, Gujarat. This bowler created sensation while playing against Newzealand in his first class debut picking up the wicket of Nathan Astle, twice in the match. More recently he has created a sensation by picking 10 wickets against the Inform Ashes series winners England. He has been unlucky about not being selected to the test side. Yet we can surely say that he is very much in the reckoning for the future Indian Team. All the best Munaf.
Today we are featuring VRV Singh. He hails from punjab. He impressed everyone with his wonderful performance in the last Ranji Season. Infact he is considered to be the fastest bowler for India. He measures 6 and half feet, He was selected as one of the three cricketers for the prestigious Border-Gavaskar scholarship. Though he has been selected for the first test match against England, we aren't sure whether he would be in the playing 11. Let's hope that he gets a chance and proves himself. V R With U VRV. Good Luck
Today's cricket player to watch out for is Piyush Chawla. This young lad is from Uttar pradesh. He is just 17 years old and he has already caught the attention of everyone with his splendid performance in the Under 19 world cup. Piyush chawla's wonderful spin bowling with match figures of 4 for 8 in under 19 world cup and more consistent performances has now created an expectation out of him. Now he is being compared to the legend Anil Kumble. The surprise factor is that he has been included in the first test against england. But his inclusion to the playing eleven may be really doubtful, yet his interaction with the senior members should give him a lot of boost to his confidence. This exposure to international cricket is definitely essential if we have to see him peform in the 2007 world cup. All the Best Piyush.
In today's emerging stars to watch section, we would be featuring Suresh Raina. Suresh Raina hails from Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Just 19 years old, born on November 27th,1986, i noticed this person for his performance in the Under 19 world cup match against scotland. He hit a hurricane knock of 90, if i remember correct in just 38 balls. He also won a man of match award against West Indies in the same series. More importantly he can also be good off spinner. He can be groomed as a very good all rounder for India. So here is a star whom we can all watch in the future. All the best Suresh Raina.
In today's cricket player, Stars to watch, we are featuring the young Sreeshanth. Sreeshanth is surely a cricket player with lots of capabilities, as was evident when he successfully picked up the wicket of the great Master Blaster, Sachin in the domestic cricket. That too twice. There were three domestic matches and the master blaster was returning after a break. In the first match he got out to Balaji while in the second and third match he got out to Sreeshanth. This definitely was a signal of his arrival. Sreeshanth hails from Kerala and did his initial schooling in Bangalore. Infact the picture opposite shows him with his principal Abida, when he had been back to his school after his selection into the Indian Team. In his initial matches he has been a little expensive, yet i am sure he is going to be a great asset for Indian team.
Rudra Pratap Singh, is the Indian Cricket Player who can emerge as a future star. He hails from Uttar Pradesh.
Today's Emerging star is Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He hails from Jharkand. It would be apt to call him Dazzling Dhoni or Destroyer Dhoni. He has relieved the burden of Dravid as the wicket keeper and surely seems to be India's answer to wicket keeper batsmen. Thus a very important position has been filled. With the current form and attitude that he displays, he is sure to have a successful journey in the Indian cricket team.
Inspite of the limited foot movement, he is very daring. He is not bothered who the bowler is, to him it is only about hitting the ball.
Lets wish him a continued success.
